Hi! i`m fitting a 5 amp fcu and want to know if I can use 1.5mm cable to supply it from the socket, or have I got to go out in the rain and get some 2.5mm. Thanks.

its not following ring cuircuit conventions to use 1.5mm for the spur to the FCU but i don't think its dangerous. As its probablly a short run earth fault disconnection should be ensured and overload protection will be ensured by the FCU.

best take an umbrella then, you should use the same size cable as is already there, not smaller, so 2.5 to fcu in your case
