Took some 7" feather edge off an outhouse. Been there 25 years. The windows had rotted at the cladding/frame junction.
The feather edge I took off has split so I can't reuse it, but it was lovely and flat.
My local Challenge Fencing yard had some 5", old, flat, however I need 7" to match what's there.
So I ordered some specially sawn out of Unsorted, perhaps foolishly I've had it sitting in the (dry) garage for a couple of months and now it's well cupped. About a quarter inch across the centre.
What should I have done? Fixed it straight away? Ordered it kilned? And what to do with 100 ft of cupped boards. Expensive firewood.
In another thread, I'll ask how you favour fixing feather edge where it meets the window.
