Hi, have got a north facing fence(vertical plank type) and it has gone green with some type of growth. Does anybody know how to get rid of it and stop it coming back. then what is the best product for staining it ? Thanks for any advice.

That'll be pleurococcus algae. Not worth worrying about tbh.

depending on the quality of your fence panel and the type of panel, cheap waneylap or the better quality palisade fence,
you could always jet wash the fence and give it a good caot of water based fence paint.i would leave this job till summer tho give the fence timber a bit of time to dry, whaich will also prevent you sealing the wet/damp inside the timber
