Wooden Fence / Football Noise

Hi All,

Have got a standard 6ft overlap wooden fence at the bottom of our small back garden, the fence is our property.
New kids on the other side are thumping their football onto the two panels where our properties meet.

I reinforced our side with some extra planks to stop them breaking through which has done the job, but we and other neighbours are constantly being annoyed by the sudden and loud crashing of the ball on the fence.

Any suggestions of anything we could replace the wooden fence with that would prove quieter, would something like the Vmex or Zebex mesh fence be strong enough to withstand the balls and be quieter ? - would still retain the reinforcing planks on our side.
