Hi there..

Me and my neighbour currently have a shared access. At present, there is a tatty wall and a couple of fence panels bolted to the wall between us. We have discussed taking the wall out and replacing with a full fence with gate between us but the ground is concrete. With numerous drains and things we are concerned about digging down too deep incase we hit pipe and stuff.

Does anyone have any ideas how we can erect a fence without the need of digging down 2-3 feet to place the posts...

Thanks - Dougie

Good fences make good neighbours...

Metpost is the obvious thing - bolts into the concrete pad with four bolts per 4" post.

It's not super strong and a 6' fence fixed every 6' could still go in a strong wind if it's in an exposed position and if that's the case, you may want a partially solid fencing. Trellis or something to let the wind through.
