Fernox DS3 Ate my Jacket

I recently descaled the boiler with acid (Fernox DS3). I was not aware that water was running down the side of the drain hose, along the garage top shelf, and dripping off the end onto my jacket

Until I saw this

I at once rinsed it in fresh water and gave it a "wool" wash but the damage had been done and the material reduced to shreds. It is made of thick woven nylon (Cordura) so if i had been guessing I would have expected it to be resistant to dilute acids.

The crash padding also cracked up

excellent, thats probably less acidic than this poxy wine Im drinking, just off to the van for a tincture.
