Just after some advice I have a 10 year old fer falcon boiler which has proved pretty reliable - it has started to fire up for approx 5 minutes and then the burner goes out and the burner then restarts for approx 30secs + and this goes on and on unitl the temp is reached both for HW AND CH - i have called out an engineer who has stated it is best just to replace as you cant get the parts anymore and is very old . just wanted some advice really - is this correct - is this an easy fix - looking at a previous post seems to be a common issue with ferolli which is know by engineers -

dont really want to shell out 2 grand for a new boiler if its poss to repair

any help / advice would be greatly appreciated

A good new boiler is only about £1600 fitted.

Most parts are available for your boiler. They are not very reliable though and when touched parts can break off.

Its probably a circulation problem and that could be sludge.

It may need chemical cleaning or powerflushing or a new pump!

But needs diagnosing at the boiler NOT on an internet forum.
