Fiat punto grande dash blank??

Any ideas why the dash would go blank. Intermittently it will come on. It's been pulled apart and nothing obvious.

What year is it, is it an old fahioned needle speedo and rev counter?

When it was playing up, did the speedo / rev counter needles flick at all?

Me, I would be taking it apart and looking for a dry joint on it somewhere.
That is after finding and monitoring both power and ground connections.
