I'm was about to start cutting up some used black/grey fibre cement roof slates, for use in the garden. (as edging on beds). Just wondering if these tiles have ever been made with asbestos? I don't know their age.

Yup, asbestos was used until fairly recently in man made slates as well as plenty other things you wouldn't expect

Haven't checked them out yet. Don't recall any markings. I cut a couple up with a grinder before having second thoughts. Doh!
