Fiesta Encore 1.3 OHV S Reg 1999.
Presuming I have to replace the sender - is it located at the rear of the engine on one of the hoses between the top of the engine and the heater? Do I have to remove the hose to replace, or is it an integral part of the hose and do I need to drain the coolant before doing so. Also, is this a pattern part or do I have to get a Ford part?
Help much appreciated.

Is it a single wire? , if so if you short it to earth you will see the gauge move, if it doesnt then there is a wiring problem.

Other than that if it works fine then it must be the sensor, aslong as you change it when cold , it doesnt matter if you spill a bit of water , just take it out quick and put the other one in as the water leaks out.

NOTE : some models of sensor do not screw in all the way , take note if the existing sensor is showing some thread , and screw in approx same length
