I have a 1.3 2001 fiesta mk4 (mileage 81000) with a steering wheel off-centre. The steering wheel vibrates quite badly at speed and the car pulls to the left. I'm guessing it needs a 4-wheel alignment and balancing and have been quoted £18 for the 4-wheel alignment and balancing at £5 per wheel. Does this seem reasonable and appropriate?

Thats very reasonable considering the expense of the equipment involved....the steering wheel should be locked in the dead ahead position before the wheels are tracked by adjusting the track rod ends. The wheels will balance nicely so long as the tyres are reasonable and none of the rims are buckled. Cheers John

£18 sounds too good to be true. I was quoted £100+ for four wheel laser alignment, although it might be that they were trying it on. I didn't get it done. I'd expect front tracking to be £10-£15 (the old fashioned way), and if done properly, steering wheel should be dead straight.
