Hi
I would appreciate if you could opine on how will be best to fill the chase left after chasing in a wire. It runs all the way from ceiling to the socket at the bottom. See photos below. It seems on average about 5mm was left between the top (middle) of the metal capping and surface of the wall. However in some places it is more like 2-3mm so the middle of the cap is almost level with the wall. Obviuosly, on each side of the middle line there is a lot more space to fill than 5mm.

What would be the best approach, especially what materials? I have bought some B&Q/Diall ready to use filler (suitable for use on plaster), but happy to go back to store and get something else instead or in addition? I want reasonably good finish ideally without spending a lot of time on the job. I have no experience of plastering whatsoever.

EDIT: I think I should make it clearer: are these distances/depths above a problem? Anything specific needs doing if the surface of the finished wall will only be 2mm above the metal "ridge" in one or two places? Or is this one business as usual.

Thanks a lot!
