I have used two different powder filler materials without success for repairing holes in a wall of the alabastine and polyfiller variety but each time, both these fillers turned to a powery white chalk that rubbed away easily and therefore cannot be sealed or painted.
Both products are probably ten years old (alabastine just opened) and so I am starting to think that these product age and loose their adhesive and binding qualities. They might be ten years old. Am I correct? I have always relied on the former product which used to set hard to a pink plaster colour but is now white!
