Hi,
First post in this section.
Ive recently been installing a light in my loft. Ive noticed some small holes to the outside world , which i believe the local squirrel may have got in

Am i okay to fill all the holes i see with something like expanding foam?

Or do i need a certain amount of holes for letting air in/out ?

Thanks,
Chris.

Where exactly are the holes? Its important to get rid of the squirrel as they can cause a lot of damage.

At either end of the house, in the brickwork at the top of the walls. Can just see slits of light here and there, and remains of an old birds nest.

Basically i just want to go round and fill all the holes i can see. But me pa is telling me not to do this as you need some for ventilation

If you have got insulation between the ceiling joists then the roof space requires ventilation. However you shouldn't have holes big enough for birds or rodents to get through into the loft.

Ok. Ill go round and fill the larger holes that i can find and leave the smaller ones.
