Filling in this very busy chase

I've had the electricians in recently doing a full house rewire. I have been filling the other chases around the house gradually, but this one running into the main board has got me a bit stumped.

It's a brick party wall, depth of about 40mm and 170mm wide. There isn't much play in any of the wires or conduits, and most of them won't sit inside the chase at the bottom if you get my drift.

Likewise at the top i think some of the cables probably cut across the square with the ceiling. Ultimately this area isn't going to be on display but i'd like to make it as neat as poss.

Cheers

Thanks! That certainly sounds neater - but what about where the conduits stick out proud of the current wall surface. Or do you mean cover the whole wall so that it's flush with where that plywood is at the moment?

If you just have some high points on the brickwork, a few minutes with hammer and brick bolster would probably be enough to sort it.

I'd go for 6mm ish MDF or ply personally. Cut while-u-wait by B&Q or whoever. 2off 1200 x 200? More expensive but easier to make neat.

I'm with ' cdbe ' on this one - take out those 5 or 6 lengths of conduit and clip the cables into the chase. Or if you maybe want to keep access to the cables, then still remove all those conduits and replace with one rectangular one with a clip on face that fits into the chase.

I'm a big fan of Pendock's plywood boxing range. A perfect finish that takes paint really well. They do corner boxes as well as 115-degree boxes that come in a variety of sizes for your problem. The advantage of these is that they can be easily trimmed to be very flush with the wall
