Filling loop

I need to replace the filling loop braided pipe as old one valve is leaking and pressurising the system slowly.

Just purchased a new one but for the arrows to go in the same direction I have to put the return / check valve on the boiler side.

This seems to be how the boiler already was (See pic)

Hope this makes sense but the normal shutoff valve ( without return) can't go other side in the direction as other because the wings on the braided cable stop the lever turning fully.

The filling loop did come with both valves arrows point inwards, but assume this was an error from whoever put together.

Is this ok?

Bit confusing what you're saying. Would help to see a picture of the new loop. The check valve should really be on the cold water main side, valve on the return.

The braded hose shouldn't cause an issue as it isn't actually meant to be left on when not in use.

The check valve should actually be on the cold mains side, I always see them on the wrong way, usually because some numpty hasn't use a WRAS approved loop and they only have one lever valve so the check valve has to stop any water being released from the system side. The check valve is there to stop any water flowing back into the mains once it has entered the braded hose, so should always be on the cold mains side.

Here are pics of the hose I purchased from Screwfix.

The Check value with flow coming in from the mains and the other value came with the direction pointing back inwards (Pic2) if I set in the direction out to the boiler. As you can see the wings on the braided hose stop the valve from opening.

I keep thinking I am missing something.

Yes. It should be held on by a small screw. Remove the screw, lift off the lever, half a turn and put it back on.

Does the valve not have a stop cast into the top of the valve for the lever that means it can only sit one way?

The tap handle has little lugs that fit the specific shape of the casting on the valve so it has a stop and believe the handle may only fit one way? May be wrong though as they love to keep changing things.

Just had to go out to the van to check.
The lever on the double check valve won't turn round but the one on the iso valve is like that on a WM tap and those can be turned.

The casting under the spindle is rugby ball shaped and has 2 stops.
