Hi

http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=21402#21402

I've visited this page to see the photo and advice but really need to check something as I'm so scared of doing something wrong with the boiler and ending up with a huge bill when we can't afford it.

The gauge is in red so less than 1 bar and when boiler kicks in to heat radiators it drops even ore into red! So I thought I need to refill it.

The tap at end of ours is black and I've turned it slightly but didn't see it make any difference to the gauge. I didn't turn it much as scared wouldn't be able to turn back off and also wasn't sure if I needed to do anything else to make it safe. Should boiler be off and if so how do I turn the thing off?? It's a Baxi 80 HE Plus. Have looked at manual and think I should just switch the thing in middle of dial to off rather than tier or constant?

Sorry to be so thick and scared but I can't get hold of my dad and my boyfriend's away.

The reason I've noticed this is that when I got home radiators were off when should have come on with timer but then realised I must have knocked the timed/ constant switch thing earlier.

just turn the black handle about quarter of a turn you should hear the water fill.

Thanks so much. Should I turn the boiler off as I said? Does it matter? Am really scared of blowing myself up!

A big big thank you. Have now dared to do it and it has worked! You are great. Thanks so much. And no explosions! Am I a plumber now? ;)
