Finding replacment part

Hello,
I have a toilet made by Villeroy & Boch. Its cistern fitting is not working and needs to be changed (the valve section that fill the cistern and stops when cistern is full). The problem is that when I take the fitting out and brought it to a B&Q shop, they told me that it is not UK standard and a replacement can not be found in UK. Is this correct? Where can I buy replacement parts for Villeroy & Boch toilets? I am living In Edinburgh Scotland.

Any help is very appreciating.
