Finishing bare wood on bannisters, stair rails & doors

Hi

We've just had an extension built & have lots of bare wood to finish - 6 doors & a large expanse of bannisters & handrails. We're wondering about using oil as we'd like a natural finish but want to keep costs down while making things childsafe & childproof. Any tips?

Use oil then, tung or linseed. There's loads of posts, try doing a search.
