finishing underside of upvc interia window sill board

Is there anything I can do to hide the wood underneath the upvc window sill or any other solutions to make it look more better. I was thinking of plastic corners and scribing to fit the wall. Can I close it up or would it cause any problems ie wood could rot

What is the wood? is it the original wooden window cill?

Cill end caps from roofline products for the end caps and a 28mm Dmould return back to the wall would probably sort it.
