Finishing wall to door liner

Evening all,

We brought forward the bathroom entrance but not too sure what is the best way to finish the wall next to the door lining? I do have a few of the grey bricks left which I could cut to a better fit but that still leaves me with some holes. Photo attached.

Infill all the gaps with masonry before fixing the lining to the masonry, even if that means buying a couple of blocks

Thanks for the reply! You can't seem to buy these blocks anymore, they're really slim (like 2.5" thick). I wasn't sure if just shoving a brick in there with some mortar would hold up in the door slamming regions

Brick with mortar should do. Having access to the brickes' masonry saw on site I tend to forget how fortunate I am
