I want to paint my newly installed 30mins firecheck doors, what are the requirements for which paint to use in order to comply with BS 476?

Do I need to paint it with fire resistant paint, or can I still use solvent paint? I presume that water based paint should be acceptable.

this may sound silly, but does it really matter what paint the fire door is painted with? (obvioulsy not one that contians anything flamable when paint is dry)

my reasoning is the door is to stop fire / smoke from getting from one side to the other, so if the other side is on fire what does it matter what paint it has, its all burnt
