Hello.
This is more of a question of fire pits over the artificial grass.
So, I live on a cutout of a hill, and this cutout has been there for some 1000 years or 2000 depending on who you ask. It was either the romans or the Normans. Anyway they didn’t cut the wedge flat, there are bits that are lower so the grass becomes a mud bath, so we have tried to level it out, but it’s not been effective, so we have artificial grass.
In the centre of the grass, is where we want to put a fire pit, but we don’t want to have it out all the time, just on evenings where we have family coming over for a barbecue. We can sit around the fire, and enjoy the evening sun.
So, I am going to get a fire pit in the next few weeks, and I know heat rises, but what would the heat be below/underneath it be? Would it melt the grass? Would I need to lay something down like stones or pavers? But wouldn’t that absorb the heat?
