Fire place

hi,

We've removed a old gas fire which has revealed a (curved) surround to protect the bricks (assumption) it has minster written accross it, feels pretty solid but as the house was built in the 80's I'm wondering if this surround would contain asbestos.

Is it a fire surround or a fireback? Minster Stone is a few miles along the road from me. They make stone fire places amongst other things.
