Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone may be able to give me a rough idea of what to expect when opening up this fireplace. I'm fairly happy what's needed and what to look out for, only thing is this open fire had a back boiler installed back in the day.

It's since been out of action, as we've had a combi installed. Want to check the header tank and see if any pipes have been cut by the plumbers, but he's as least drilled into the back boiler.

Question is, when taking this out, is it likely to be an all in one job like this

or a fireplace sat over a back boiler/circulator box like this?

By the way the plumbers drilled into the face over the fireplace, maybe that's the water jacket like in this picture
