FIREPLACE Renovation

Hi All
I have a fireplace, and want to renovate it. It's marble tiles. Being a building contractor, I was thinking of demolishing the lot and start from scratch, but now am seeing there is a certain beauty to it!
Any ideas on how to bring it out shiny??
Also, looking for someone to come and install an inset, probably electric rather than gas as the gas pipe has been removed.

Being a builder why not build over it (leaving it for future) with brick or brick slips Or something...pinenot
