Got quite a surprise at the "lintel" for this chimney breast, just odd bricks hacked about to form sort of keystones.
Before I hacked the thin layer of cement render off I was just intending to Stihl saw and chisel flat the cement/brick pillars at each side to get the wall level for plastering but in fact they were loose.
The square edge behind the right hand pillar is the granite lintel from the original open range, sitting up on end. It also was held up by luck and it weighs about 100 kilos.
