My builder has applied most of the first coat (concrete) and is now letting it dry before next layer (though the bit he hasnt put first coat on wont get chance to dry, as his next visit will be his last - which I dont understand). This first layer is very sandy and i can literally wipe off the surface with my hand .. I dont believe any bonding agent would have been put on before the first layer as they simply werent long enough at the house to do that, and then put on first coat of render.
So im wondering
1. Should the first layer definitely dry out fully before second layer is applied
2. Should the first layer be really sandy and quite loose
Any guidance would be hugely appreciated.
