Undercoat on texture painted wall before multifinish?

Hi. We want to do plastering on our old texture painted walls. I painted one coat of bond it agent today.Do i need to use undercoat bonding as a first coat before i will apply multifinish or can do it straight away....cheers

Depends on how rough/heavy the old texture is.If it has a heavy texture, then yes,,,,, put on a coat of bonding undercoat to level it off a bit,,,, let it set,,,, then finish it off with multi finish. A pic would be handy

I would go with two coats of multi finish, first to fill in the lows then a skim on top to finish it off.
