Hi,

I am wanting to fit a Bath/shower mixer tap to my current bath.
I have been warned about water pressure on the supply to the taps - the cold water feed is mains pressure and the HW is from a combi boiler (and the pressure is much less). Is there anything I need to take into consideration when purchasing/fitting my chosen tap(s).
Thanks

Make sure you have everything before you start is my advice. I done the same job over the holidays. Turn the water off at your mains and close all your tank valves (all of them to be sure) and once the water runs dry from your lowest tap point your ready to go. I used clear silicon and thread tape wherever possible and left the bath casing off for a few days after to be sure of no leaks. The only prob I encountered was having a mad rush to the local depot as my 6" adjustable wrench (ideal for the basin taps)was too small for the bath nuts, I had to get a 10" one. Seen as you have not yet bought the set I must recommend the' Monarch' set from Makro, which replaces everything in your bath and sink, ther's even a a matching toilet flusher thrown in too!!. For £50 it was £70 cheaper than anything else I had looked at and it looks great and the instructions were simple to follow too. But the most important thing....Fill up your kettle before you start!!!
