Fitted wardrobes over fireplace and ventilation

Wife wants fitted wardrobes down the end of the bedroom. The ikea pax wardrobe system will leave a 25mm gap against each wall, and a 30cm gap on top, so are settling on those. May even close the gaps with some beading on the side, and leave the top open.

However, there's an old fireplace on the wall. I can remove the mantle, so the unit protudes around 25mm. It is currently boarded with a vent.

Any concerns for ventilation about putting the warobes in front? Air will be able to circulate.

Thoughts?

Probably not an issue.
You could however, fit a vent into the plinth at the bottom of the wardrobe.

These are available in plastic or metal in various finishes.
