Hi everyone
I am thinking of fitting an en-suite bath in my upstairs bedroom.
Would it be ok to fit the waste to the roof down pipe
I live in Scotland does anyone know what the regs are.
Cheers

I take it you mean the rainwater pipe from the guttering?

No, No and even NO

Yes, I think it goes into the main drain. There will be no sewage

Rain water should/usually goes to a soakaway. En-suite waste is classed as dirty water.

Boxbasher is probably best to advise. Don't know about scottish regs though ;)

Yes. no problem, it`s clean water.

bath water as i remember is category 3 and should not mix with storm water. obsviuosly if its an old house you could have combined drains like mine...but lots of houses have separate drians and it not permitted to discharge bath water into rain water drains

it is a pre 1940 house and one of the drains goes into the main drain

Really?

But does rainwater go down the sewer?

Bath water is NOT clean water.

Bath water IS clean water, it does not travel as sewage. It`s not piped as such, otherwise we would not generally pipe our wastes from our bath / wash basin into a hopper which is generally connected to a downwater pipe.End of.

Thanks guys
i think this thread is now closed
Cheers :p
