fitting an external expansion vessel

i had to change my prv and found that my expansion vessel had gone ,can i fit a new one on either flow/return pipe,or is there anything else that needs fitting, my boiler is a worcester 24 i

Best on return with at least 1 m of pipe to it!

thanks but i dont think there is enough room for a metre of pipe but hopefully i can get it in another part on the system,do u think a 8ltr vessel will be ok ?

8 litre will be enough, one metre of pipe isn't necessary either.

Does the old vessel stay in situ? does it need to be isolated?.

only if it's leaking, it can be left connected if it's sound.
