I will soon be fitting a new bath. I am plasterboarding the walls scewing the boards to battens. I will be using aquapanel around the bath and wondered the best way of securing the new bath to the wall. Is there an alternative to using the 2 brackets that come with the bath. Don't know how effective they would be screwed to the aquapanel after a bit of movement in the bath. Any help appreciated.

Fix two bearers securely to the floor and screw front and back feet of bath to these (use a stumpy driver for back ones). You could screw the brackets to the battens with a few careful measurements, or turn the brackets upside down and fit at the two front corners under the bath.

Ya not butting the bath to the panels are you??

bath should normally be chased in to wall a bit so the tiles or panels sit on the bath lip ..

Good practise is to silicone seal bath to panel(full of course), then tile using tiling strip which has been first applied with silicone sealant.

Keith.

I would consider fixing a level timber through the aquapanel securely to the studwork around the walls for the top rail of the bath to sit on, and fixing through the timber into the top rail to pull it all down nice and snug.

Some baths would benefit from some extra timbers behind the panel to support that side as well.
