I changed the in-line push button on/off switch of my up-lighter to a dimmer switch and replaced the existing low energy 40w screw-in bulb with a regular 60W bulb. (60W in minimum wattage required by dimmer switch manufacturer).
Problem:
Unless I dim the light to very low the light flickers.
Any suggestions to stop it flickering please?

I see that you changed bulb but is it a 60w low energy bulb (possibly a compact fluorescent bulb) or is it an incandescent bulb(with a wire filament)?

Low energy, non-dimmable bulbs will flicker when dimmed.

After a number of tests it appear that the new dimmer was faulty. Changed dimmer switch and its now A-OK
