fitted one of these thermostats but unsure of the boiler switching and disabling the existing clock,,,anyone done one already?

terminals are l, n, ns,ls and lr in the boiler with the following connections..
l=mains live, n= mains neutral, ns has no connection, ls and lr are connected with link.
wiring the receiver to the mains is fine, I have that sussed, but the honeywell instructions show the switching being done with terminals a and b. I'm assuming these connect to ls and lr when I've removed the link?
How do I disable the internal clock or set it for 24 hr running ?

The old boiler I did a few years ago and it was straightforward, but this has a pcb etc!
thanks in anticipation
