Hi, to comply with a new house insurance policy, I need to fit some restrictors to existing aluminium sash windows. I ordered some shark fin universal restrictors online but can't work out how to fit them. I understand where they go but there appears to be metal 'runners' in the way. Do I need to cut a section out of these to fit the restrictors? Or are there different/specific ones I need to get for this type of sash? If I need to cut a section out, do you think a window company would fit them for me as that it way beyond my DIY skills! Unfortunately, the company that fitted the windows folded a while ago when the owner retired.

Any help gratefully appreciated.
