I have bought a Yale 6400 alarm kit and to fit the window sensors the instructions say they must be no more than 10 mm from sensor to the magnet. My window and frame are not flush fitting. Any advise here or how I should fit them.

Regards

Put the magnet on the side of the window and then position the sensor adjacent making sure the gap as mentioned is less than 10mm.
You can juggle them in all different planes they don't have to be both flat and adjacent. The magnet just needs to be close and parallel to the long senor side. Here are some ideas.
