Hi,

I am fitting surface mounted sink to an oak worktop which I am oiling with liberon tung oil. I have not yet oiled the top side of the worktop, and my question is just whether I should avoid oiling the surface where the silicone sealant will need to be applied between the sink edge and the worktop, as I have read conflicting reports on the ability of silicone to adhere adequately to oiled surfaces! Many thanks in advance.

Osmo top oil is a better product, the oil dries and offers no problem with adhesion of silicon.
