I am fixing 2x1 battens to my rafters to make them deeper so I can insulate between them.

I was going to use steel wood screws but it occurred to me that I'm using treated battens so should I be using more moisture resistant screws as well?

Also, the rafters are 70mm deep and the battens are 25mm thick for a total thickness of 95mm - should I be using 70mm screws?

70mm steel screws are fine unless you want to spend two or three times as much and buy decking screws.
