Fixing joist wallplate to thermalite block - help !

At 3.8m you should be able to use 8x2s; when I converted my loft, the BCO wanted 6x3s at 400 centres on 4.5m, and eventually settled on 6x2s because they were 400c - which was actuallya mistake on reflection, but 8x3s on that length is way over spec.

Thanks chaps. Spoke to BC and Structural Eng, both happy for me to use 8 x 2 C16. Max span allowed is 3.85 and my longest is just less.

Timber supplier was spot on and will let me swap. Some of it but not all was bent out twisted so will make sure no one looses out, them or me. He has done me a favour letting me return ans swap so hopefully I can get on over the weekend.

Money back on what I returned and I replaced with 8 x 2. Supplier went above and beyond so gets my further orders too for that.
