Fixings for Thermalite blocks

Hello and a happy new year to you all

We are about to fix restraint straps to Timber joists and 9 inch thermalite blocks. What fixings would you use especially for the blocks as they seem prone to crumbling.

chemical resin anchors..

or if your just after something to take screws then have a look on the screwfix site, they have some that claim to be ok for soft blocks..

best advice is get a good drill bit and drill.. no need for hammer action in thermalite, it'll just crack the block..
