Hi. Just being on the safe side - I have a leaking Garda mixer tap in the kitchen; not sure if it's the hot or the cold side so I've bought both the replacement ceramic washer units online. I was just about to turn the main water supply off and had a last minute worry about the pressurised potable expansion vessel on the hot water system (for shower pressure - shows 2.1 ish).

Can i just empty the taps and not worry please?

Yes, if the taps are empty the accumulator or expansion vessel will be depleted.

Many thanks Simon. I presume it just re-pressurises itself when the mains is put back on ? No bleeding or air pumping up required
