fixing plaster board to wall??????

hi just been to local hard ware shop for some plasterboard fix to stick a piece of plasterboard to side of chimney breast where its all fell off.They didn`t have the stuff i wanted and the lady there said they usually use browning,would this work?as i have half a bag already

not sure about browning, but Jewsons do a 25kg bag of 'drywall adhesive' for about 5 quid. dries absolutely rock solid

you can either repair with a backing coat (browning) and skim (thistle multi), or dab (dry wall adhesive with plasterboard) and skim (thistle board finish).

so you can`t use browning as a adhesive like she said.
