Fixing radiator to ply

That all depends on the thickness!

On very weak walls I use 12 mm or 18 mm MDF behind the rad and fix this to the vertical timbers.

On very weak lath and plaster I have sometimes used the multiple fixings method. I drill about 12 holes in the bracket and use 12 screws. Individually each screw is very weak but with 12 -14 it can give an adequate fixing.

sorry should have wrote it's a posy radiator and can't put board behind it as you'd see it.The Ply is underneath plasterboard.

Would toggle fixings be Ok ?

If I feel the rad fixings 'need a bit of help', I always put silicone behind the rad brackets before fixing then leave 24hrs before hanging the rad.

Only downside is that the wall will come down first if you ever need to remove the brackets
