Hey everyone
Maybe an easy one for a carpenter but a challenge for me. I’d posted on another thread about plasterboarding my stairs as they had been done terribly with mesh before. But this is more a question on the carpentry as I want to get that right before I plasterboard.
The stairs squeak and creak loads. So I’ll be doing the trick with the blocks on the back. It’s quite thin mdf on the risers so I may pad this out with some ply as well as the carpet grippers won’t stick to them otherwise.
What would you advise doing to the stairs to make them easier to plasterboard? Note I’m not doing wire mesh. I want to board it. So the challenge is getting the sides level so I can board over it.
Is there anything I can trim off the stairs to help that?
Thanks all
