I need to fix an open wardrobe to a wall. One side will be in a corner and there seems to be a stud wall of some sort in this corner. Using a magnet I get a strong pull about 8 inches from the ceiling, then again about 10ins down, then again about 11ins down. Could this be a wooden stud wall with metal parts at inervals or could there be different types of metal all the way down which the magnet reacts to differently?

On the other side of the cupboard it is a hollow wall and I am going to use a self drilling plasterboard screw as in the following photo. Could I also use this on the stud wall presuming it is wood, or is some other self drilling screw more suitable?
