Hi guys.

I've just had the house insulated externally (kingspan, render and pebbledash) and wanted to know if I should be using any special fixings to put up my outside lights / conduit etc? At a guess I only really need rawl plugs into the render but wanted to double check!

Cheers

If you have externally it insulation boards and then rendered on top, I doubt he render coat would be a suitable secure fabric to fix to, bearing mind the weight of external light, wind, snow and birds using as a perch. I would suggest you use a masonry plug large enough to penetrate through to masonry of the once was outside wall.(I assume the original external wall is of brick/block)

Normal rawl plugs into the top coat / foam will just crack when you put weight on it. As said, longer fixings, and use silicone to seal them.
