Flaking paint on alloy wheels

I was thinking you'd need to do the whole wheel .It looks like it's flaked before and been blown over.
 
yes.

And if you paint onto dirt, corrosion or nasty paint, it will look horrible and fall off.

Smoothrite and hammerite are horrible paints. They won't match the other wheels and are a pig to get off.
 
There are plenty of aerosols with the proper alloy wheel paint.

Obviously, preparation is everything.

I'll experiment on the worst one and see how it cleans up.
