Hi All,

We have a series of flat rofs on our property, none are leaking but they are dirty and need a recoat of some description.

All are fibre glass, the question is -

Can we use Evercryl One Coat to freshen them up or is another product more suitable?

Many thanks in advance.

OP,
For my money, its bad practice to GRP over felt.
I've no idea what kind of remedial coating would work but I'm sure google offers lots of choices.
The "dirty" area in the pic is as a result of pooling & wind blown debris - pooling is typically a result of lack of fall in the roof joists.
Discharging the main roof gutter across the lower flat roof is also bad practice - search for another way of dropping the main roof RWP.

Hi Ree - and now of course Nige F -

Thank you both for you replies - and of course Nige F has spotted it - Its a fibre glass roof, not felt.

Ree - Good point regarding the discharge - I will look into that -

As for the pooling and falls etc with out a new install that wont change and thats expensive for us.

Really appreciate the replies both - Thank you.

Using your pointer, I am still thinking Evercryl, or however, this one - '

KoverTek TekCryl One Coat Roof Repair'

I also looked up 'Skill Builder', and they appear to use Everycryl, but the above product in comparison has fibrees for added strength.

I will email the Tekcryl company and see what they say.

I've used Bostik Flexacryl on a deteriorating felt roof with some success, although I re-inforced some cracks in the felt with scrim embedded in the Flexacryl.
You can get Flexacryl in a lightish grey colour which, unlike black, doesn't get so hot in the sun, prolonging its life

Hi ChrisJP -
Many thanks for your suggestion - I am still looking at option, and this is another, which in searches has appeared previously, but its good to get actual 'I've used this' feedback.

Once I have made my mind up, and the weather turns a little more favourable (i have no leaks so no rush there) I will post up what I went with and photos also etc.

Thanks again -
